Hughes NCA Goals

Receiving NCA accreditation means that the school met or exceeded the educational standards set by the Michigan Department of Education. Although accreditation does not determine how good one school is in comparison to another, it does provide the information that certain standards are being met. Hughes School has been North Central Accredited since 1997. Criteria for the accreditation includes qualified teachers, progress toward goals, quality program and parental involvement. This accreditation is renewed yearly. The NCA is a voluntary coalition of more than 8,300 schools in a 19-state region.

NCA Goals

  • All students will increase their knowledge of math facts and apply them across the curriculum.
  • All students will show improvement in their ability to read informational text
  • Students will use technology as a learning tool.
